there was a cookie contest @ omnivore books yesterday & i thought what the heck, wouldn't hurt to enter. besides, free entry for those who bring a batch! by the third sample i was already gettin sick offa the sweets. i still managed to grab a bag full of em for a treat later though :) congrats to the chewy chocolate toffee lady with the most votes!

:which means i dont know how to speak german. but by the end of the weekend, my friend said i was a pro! she said i was quite the learner, but i had a good teacher! i was bugging her about it the whole time. this girl babysat me for two days; taking me all over the place. we stayed in mainz but also made a day trip to frankfurt, only a forty minute ride on the train. i gave her quite the scare since my flight got delayed and i had no way of contacting her because the number she gave me didnt work. luckily we found eachother after hours of wandering on each end. but i had a great time. lots of walking, eating, & drinking that delicious glühwein everywhere we went. just the perfect touch in the cold.

Two main to-do's:

im still pretty hung up on new york. [so im going to draw a couple more comics on it before going to the usual topics.] but yeah, i swear this is all we did. shop + eat. i didnt get to check out all the spots i wanted; stores, vintage shops, restaurants, bakeries, & foodstands alike--this city is way too big to conquer em all. which means i'll be back!
















gosh, everything was sooo ho may ahhh¹. mmmmmmm.

+shops: muji, uniqlo, topshop, vice versa, search & destroy, toy tokyo.
+foooood: gnoccos, la esquina, egg, mandoo bar, shake shack, pomme frites, cafe habana, soho park cafe.

Warm wednesday.

well i have a million things to do but i didnt want to fully miss out on this sun. its actually pretty warm out; so i took some reading assignments to the roof.

mmmmm 'twas very nice. brought some fruit with me up there / along with a mat / hat / sunscreen / suntanlotion / &my camera. hahah i have a very intimate relationship with the sun ;)



^ this + a tall glass of soy milk = a very happy powdered-sugar-face.

Wednesunnyday.

it was chilly, but there was plenty sun & not a cloud in the sky. that + good company + food + grass is all i neeeeeeed :)
